Swara, on the other hand, took to Twitter on Friday and shared a video message to share her support of the athelets and wrote, “Shameful that our top International athletes are forced to protest on streets against sexual harassment but accused BJP MP is being consistently shielded by the govt. #IStandWithMyChampions. Sack & investigate #BrijBhushanSharanSingh.”

The video featured Swara saying that she is not supporting them because they are international level athletes but because if this is the condition of such notable wrestlers, what will be the fate of a common woman/victim. She also questioned why the leaders of the ruling party do not mind getting themselves clicked with these athletes when they win medals for the country, but are now maintaining distance from them. She also requested people to come in support of them.

Her caption read: “Literally protecting a rape accused.. again! This is our democratically elected govt. Some part of this is on us too folks. #IStandWithMyChampions.”

Other celebrities who are supporting the celebrities also include Pooja Bhatt who tweeted in support of them on Friday and also accused athlete PT Usha of gaslighting them.

PT Usha said o Thursday that the wrestlers should have approached the IOA instead of going out in the streets against the WFI and its president Brijbhushan Sharan Singh.
